COVER outlines what visitors to the next edition of DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR can expect to find at the show

DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR 2023 is drawing ever closer. 1600 exhibitors will gather at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from 26–28 July, for what is expected to be one of the biggest editions of the show yet. Here we highlight rug exhibitors, alongside specific features of the show that are sure to spark the interest of COVER readers.

DOMOTEX asia

The carpet sector has always been an important feature of DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR and this edition is no different. There will be two halls dedicated to the carpet industry, hosting 400 brands that address everything from residential and commercial carpets, woven and machine-tufted carpets, hand-made carpets, wall-to-wall carpets, carpet tiles, mats, to carpet raw materials and carpet production technology.

DOMOTEX asia

A national pavilion for Iranian rug brands, supported by the Kashan Chamber of Commerce and organised by Pouyan Pasargad, is an exciting feature of the show. The pavilion will host eight renowned high-end carpet producers: Beheshti, Farahan, Iranian Palace Carpets, Leili, Noyan, Pouyan Pasargad, Shadrokh, Shokou Kavir.  Exhibiting near the Iranian pavilion will be other Iranian rug brands, including Almas Kavir, Nishaburi, Phoenix, Sadeghzadeh and Tamadon.

Outside of this pavilion will be other brands showcasing both new and familiar collections. Mahesh Exports will show its ‘Navya Collection’ by Opulence. These handloom carpets have been developed to have a knotted look, resulting in affordable pieces that still feel luxurious and do not compromise quality. Chinese brands that are worth visiting include Yangxin Ruixin Group Co., offering hand tufted carpets for commercial use, and ‘Shanhua Carpet’, which has gained recognition as a ‘China 500 Most Valuable Brand’

DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR 2023 will explore its design-oriented concept with events that offer the opportunity to attract professionals from the architectural and design community. These include CADEX SUMMIT, which focusses on new trends in architecture and interior design, MATERIAL MATTERS, which is a display area curated by designers, exploring the most innovative raw materials for the flooring production and the CHINESE ORIGINAL CARPET DESIGN SHOW, co-organised with China Carpet Industry Association (CCIA) where 300 Chinese designers from twenty-two companies will compete for the handmade carpet design award of the year.
