ICFF + WantedDesign Manhattan Review

ICFF + WantedDesign Manhattan took place from 21–23 May. COVER looks at the highlights

Last December, WantedDesign co-founders Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat became Brand Directors for ICFF + WantedDesign Manhattan, bringing a strong joint identity to two of the three core Javits Center shows that make up the annual NYCxDesign festival.

Moooi designed the ICFF Welcome Lounge, featuring its playful new Knitty Lounge Chair designed by Nika Zupanc and inspired by large, knotted ropes like those used in shipping ports. The Lounge and Restaurant by Rodolfo Agrella featured rugs by exhibitors Kasthall and Chilewich respectively.

J. D. Staron won the ICFF Editors Award for the Carpet & Flooring category, showing its Lisbon collection of needlepoint rugs, along with the new handloomed, eco-friendly Pure collection and additions to the Modern Antiques collection by Jakub Staron. Other noteworthy rugs at ICFF could be seen on the stands of Armadillo, Jan Kath, Warp & Weft (see New Collections), Slow Tiger (see COVER 70), London-based Wendy Morrison and Auda Sinda from the Pacific Northwest, offering bespoke pieces handwoven in the United States. Plus, Swiss brand My Moroccan Rug showed rugs as part of Maison de L’Artisan’s Moroccan Pavilion.

At WantedDesign, the Carole rug featured in Mana Sazegara’s third collection for NYCxDesign.
