The International Contemporary Furniture Fair will be held in Manhattan later this month. Here, COVER outlines what visitors can expect.

Anyone with a love of interior design, wanting to discover a wide variety of furnishings, should look no further than the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. From 21–23 May 2023, ICFF and the co-located WantedDesign Manhattan will bring together over 400 international brands at the Javits Centre in New York. Beyond this, they will be hosting a range of incredible events, including panel sessions and presentations from the biggest names in the industry.

ICFF and WantedDesign Manhattan

Of the many exhibitors that will have stands at the show, there are some that will undoubtedly catch the eye of anyone seeking unique rugs and textiles. Brera Studio’s and Difane’s collaborative ‘Hatto Collection’, a series of minimalist and organic modular rugs, is worth viewing. So too are the many beautiful designs by Wendy Morrison, particularly ‘Talisman Hand-Knotted’, which won a Carpet Design Award for ‘Best Classic-Modern Design’ in January. These brands will be in good company with Jan Kath, Warp & Weft, Armadillo and Slow Tiger, which will be exhibiting designs from both old and new collections at the show.

The show’s exhibitors are not its sole attraction. A list of talented emerging designers have been selected for the WantedDesign Launch Pad programme, an international platform for emerging designers to introduce new concepts and showcase prototypes. The Best of Launch Pad winners will be selected by a jury of renowned industry professionals at the show. Alongside this, 44 North American designers, makers and studios have been selected for WantedDesign Manhattan’s Look Book program. The designs of the participants for both these programmes can be discovered at the show. ICFF and WantedDesign will also be hosting a range of talks on the main stage, and in the Oasis x Material Bank lounge, with speakers from companies such as Snohetta, BeOriginalAmericas and WGSN.

Talks at ICFF

A final highlight at ICFF will be the 43rd Interiors Awards, the winners of which will be announced at the evening ceremony on 21 May. Visit the ICFF website to buy tickets for the ceremony, and also to register for any of the aforementioned events that may be of interest.
