adidas have launched the world’s first knitted football boots. The limited edition Samba Primeknit has an entirely knitted top, constructed from yarns that can provide stability, strength and water resistance equal to conventional boots. According to adidas the new design ‘combines the comfort and responsiveness of playing barefoot with the protection of a traditional design’. Liverpool striker Luis Suarez will wear the world’s first knitted football boots when Liverpool play Manchester United at Old Trafford on March 16. adidas are only making 150 pairs of the new primeknit boot, which cost £220.
