Burberry Prorsum released their new ready-to-wear A/W 2014 collection at London Fashion Week yesterday, 17 February 2014, featuring a finale where the models were enveloped in rugs.
The body-wrap rugs are designed with modern art references that resemble the September 2013 Céline collection. Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s CEO and chief creative officer, designed the heavy-weight shawls inspired by traditional equestrian blankets. Crafted in Scotland from lambswool and cashmere, the shawls are reversible and can be personalised with your initials. The price stands at a whooping £895, and is available till 3 March 2014 from the Burberry website.
Other blanket ponchos are also available, although these cannot be personalised, they still convey a Bohemian style splashed with contemporary brushstrokes. The rest of the collection included belted flowing dresses with hand painted decoration on the classic Burberry trench. Each of the hand-painted pieces are ones-offs, including a new handbag called the Bloomsbury and the Edwardian shaped ankle boots.

Cara Delevigne models the Colour Block Check Blanket Poncho with initials CJD.
