COVER loves the work of German designer Meike Harde, who will be showing work at Tent London on 19-22 September as part of the London Design Festival. Harde’s textile furniture features the London collection, which consists of a wardrobe, a cabinet as well as a bag-like storage object, each made of a metal frame swathed in fabric, making the furniture lightweight and mobile.
Harde’s Zieharsofika corded upholstery collection rethinks cushioning techniques and with rubber foam mats and elastic bands new forms are created for seating.
Harde’s Lichtschlucker light shades are made from disposable cups.
The Carpet Diem pouffes is made form the thin carpeting used a trade fairs, making them robust but also soft and malleable.
