COVER’s favourite non-carpet carpet maker has to be the Dutch design collective WE MAKE CARPETS, who make temporary contemporary carpets out of everyday objects. In May 2013 WMC produced a series called Liberty Carpets, four designs which were commissioned by Liberty and showed in the windows of the London store earlier this year. The Balloon carpet, the Partyhat carpet, the Streamer carpet and the Flag carpet sat alongside gifts and accessories from the department store.
