Consisting of 729 connected fabric sections, Blue Brick by Akane Moriyama is dyed in three different blue gradients and hue variants. Each nylon piece can be detached and stitched together again, which allows a continuous transformation within the spatial installation.
Developed as an “ever-changing modular configuration”, the system by Moriyama influences how the interior facade interacts within the expanding and contracting unit of colourful panels. Functionally speaking, the creation has the possibility to co-exist in a space as a transparent wall, massive curtain, or even as a horizontal carpet-shaped element.
