A first look at the collections featured in COVER 84: Part 2

Since relocating from Iran to Paris almost two years ago, Mirmola has shifted from observing the city at a distance to engaging more actively with its creative landscape.

Encounters with artists working across textiles and other disciplines have encouraged him to reconsider the carpet as a medium that can move between visual art, object design and traditional craft.

His latest pieces continue to explore this space. Ouch Family reflects on togetherness while embracing difference, while What Is Your Number? conceals an encoded message within its design, inviting viewers to take a closer look.

Kalaty

Kalaty’s Luxe-Weave series brings together hand-knotted, handcrafted and power-loomed rugs spanning an extensive range of textures, colours and decorative styles.

Each design undergoes the brand’s proprietary finishing process, developed to give the rugs the character, surface and appearance of high-end hand-knotted pieces.

The latest addition is Waldorf, the sixth collection in the series. Woven entirely from premium wool yarns, its low pile and vintage-inspired finish are paired with a refined colour palette, balancing classical references with a contemporary sensibility.

Bold colour and energetic pattern define Organic Structure, the latest collection from designer Alex Proba. Drawing on forms found in nature, its repeating motifs bend, overlap and soften to introduce movement and a playful sense of imbalance.

The collection comprises eleven rugs hand-knotted in New Zealand wool at approximately 100 knots per square inch. Across the designs, geometric forms are loosened and reworked to create lively compositions intended to bring colour and personality into interiors.
