From romantic florals to Mediterranean-inspired textures and bold graphic designs, these six new rugs highlight the summer’s most exciting directions in contemporary craft and interiors

As the heatwave marks the start of the summer season, interiors are embracing a lighter, more relaxed mood. From sun-washed tones to tactile natural textures, these six rugs capture the easy elegance of summer living and are the designs we’re loving right now.
Christopher Farr x ERDEM
The collaboration between Christopher Farr and ERDEM brings Erdem Moralioglu’s romantic visual world into rug form. Hand-knotted in Afghanistan using Ghazni wool, the designs centre on oversized floral motifs in soft, tonal palettes.
Two collections sit within the launch: a made-to-order series with custom options, and a ready-to-stock line for immediate availability. Both explore femininity, texture and craftsmanship, with subtle colour variations created through traditional dyeing techniques.
Produced in partnership with Turquoise Mountain, the rugs also support Afghan weaving communities and help sustain traditional craft skills.

nanimarquina – Lucia Eames Collection
nanimarquina presents a poetic new collection developed with the Eames Office, based on artworks by Lucia Eames.
Her joyful imagery semantic of birds, suns, botanical forms is translated into layered woven pieces using wool, jute and mixed natural fibres. Techniques range from hand-knotting to sculptural tufting, giving each rug a distinct material presence.
The result is a tactile interpretation of Eames’ work, unveiled during Milan Design Week and rooted in both sustainability and storytelling.

LYK Carpet – Meadow
Presented at Berlin Design Week, Meadow by LYK Carpet transforms the rug into a spatial object.
Designed by Mareike Lienau, the piece is hand-knotted in Nepal from Tibetan wool and built through shifting pile heights and organic tonal gradients. The surface evokes a living landscape that changes with light and perspective.
More installation than product, it explores how textiles can shape atmosphere, connection and spatial experience.

Ruggable x Marimekko
The collaboration between Ruggable and Marimekko brings bold print into everyday living through washable rug technology.
Iconic patterns, including Unikko by Maija Isola, are reworked into practical, high-impact designs for both rugs and doormats. The collection balances playful colour with everyday functionality.
It’s a simple idea executed well: strong graphic design made easier to live with.

La Manufacture Cogolin – Paysages
La Manufacture Cogolin offers a softer, more textural direction with Paysages, a collection inspired by the French Riviera.
Sand, sea and sunset tones run through seven designs that combine hand-weaving, Jacquard and hand-knotting techniques. Some pieces are made in France, others in Nepal, all available to customise.
The focus is on atmosphere over pattern with quiet, layered surfaces that feel relaxed and timeless.

S&H Rugs
This hand-knotted Khotan design rug from S&H Rugs combines traditional craftsmanship with a warm, contemporary palette.
Woven entirely from wool with a densely constructed, shaved low pile, the piece features soft geometric medallions and intricate border detailing inspired by classic Central Asian designs.
The rich golden yellow field is balanced by muted sage and ivory accents, giving the rug a quiet elegance and subtle depth. This particualr design feels both decorative and refined, bringing warmth, texture and understated character to contemporary interiors.

Across these summer launches, rugs take on a lighter, more expressive role — bringing colour, texture and artisanal character into interiors through playful patterns, natural materials and relaxed, tactile design.
