For the seventh edition of COVER Conversations, COVER assistant editor Rachel Meek talks to American artist Keith Collins who uses rugs and textiles as well as paint to create his artworks. Rachel talks to Keith about his inspiration, the fun stories behind his many commissions and how to practice the art of business. We learn how Keith first got into using carpets to make art, by selling a possession that was very dear to him. At the time, his friends laughed but he has never looked back. Keith Collins: ‘My mentor taught me the art of business. A lot of artists have talent, but how do you turn that into business? Just be good at what you do, believe in what you do and it’ll work! That’s what I believe.’
