With Heimtexil 2026 just days away, there are lots of highlights lined up for the next week
Heimtextil 2026 opens next week in Frankfurt, bringing the global interiors industry together with an optimised hall layout, show-stealing designs, and a strong focus on holistic interior solutions. Taking place 27–29 January 2026 at Messe Frankfurt, the fair reflects how sourcing, design and specification are evolving across home and contract interiors.
Before Heimtextil starts this coming Tuesday, here are some key highlights to look forward to across the week.
The third edition of the Carpets & Rugs section at Heimtextil will see another increase in the number of brands on show, accompanied by a change in the layout to reflect ongoing market fluctuations. Rugs will be focused in Hall 11.0 for handmade pieces from Choudhary Exports, Rupesh Kumar & Sons and The Rug Republic, Hall 11.1 for India and China pavilions, and Hall 12.0 for machine-made carpets from Rezas and ABC Italia, alongside the Future Floor display, expert talks and guided tours. Paulig will appear as part of DecoTeam in Hall 3.0. The new home for rugs offers more space and concentrates all floor coverings in one area, ideal for buyers.
Patricia Urquiola’s immersive installation ‘among-all’ explores the interplay between design, movement and artificial intelligence. Visit Hall 3 on 14 January to witness how an AI-powered LED wall responds to movement, turning visitors into futuristic hybrid figures that fuse human and technological elements in an immersive display.
Curated by Alcova, the Heimtextil Trends 26/27 examine the tension between AI-driven design and the renewed desire for craftsmanship, intuition and material expression across contemporary interiors
A comprehensive talks programme and curated tours throughout the week provide insight into trends, sustainability, technology and interior architecture, helping visitors navigate the show efficiently. Our Editor Lucy will be leading four talks and tours centred around the Future Floor and highlighted trends in handmade carpets.

In collaboration with COVER magazine, ABC Italia and Label STEP hosts a breakfast on Wednesday 14 January, 9–11am, to present new designs made in Afghanistan and connect with visitors in an informal setting. Be sure to visit to enjoy the interaction, the weaving and the excellent breakfast menu.
