Keep an eye out for these intriguing new collections and designs at COVER Connect New York.

Under the guidance of its founder, Erbil Tezcan, Wool & Silk has become renowned for its unique, colourful and abstract designs. The brand has recently developed more aesthetically minimalist yet texturally complex pieces using undyed yarn, which, alongside a new collaboration with an abstract artist, will be shown at New York in September.

‘A hand-knotted homage to the beginning of all things,’ the new Genesis collection by leading brand Samad Rugs captures the movement of elemental forces through thread. Chiffon in particular embodies the collection’s spirit: ‘Ethereal yet grounded, it evokes the sensation of fabric caught midflight, or waves meeting sky at dusk.’

Designed by Carmen Andonian in partnership with Zollanvari, the new Pacific Northwest collection is a tribute to the majestic natural beauty of the collection’s eponym. Capturing the dynamic flow and vibrant colours of the landscape, the five designs in the collection ‘perfectly blend the raw, untamed beauty of nature with refined artistry’.

New Moon’s latest designs are ever-inventive, stylish surprises. This September, they include wild and atmospheric additions to the Contemporary collection, like this antler-covered creation channelling a serene version of hunting-trophy chic. Plus new additions to the ever-popular luxury lodge line, Mesa, with a Rio Grande weaving aesthetic.

One of Paulig’s most sustainable textures, Salsa Atoll, is now available in round and oval shapes as Salsa Atoll Curved. Plus Salsa Atoll S offers this winning texture in wool and sisal only. The first texture from a brand new collection, Flora, will debut too, using this same material combination to give an ‘incomparably pleasant walking sensation’.

Six designs in the new Loominary collection glimmer with effervescent movement. Hand-knotted in pashmina, cactus and wool, Lucent is available in four colours and emits a soft glow, like light filtered through fabric. Vestige ‘captures what fades. A trace of light. A shadow. A memory. All held just long enough to feel it.’

Amer Rugs’ new Ensemble collection ‘explores contemporary expression through fluid form, layered texture, and tonal harmony’. With sweeping gestures in ash, ink and mineral tones, the design previewed above aims to ground spaces with quiet sophistication.

This design studio is made up of a team of ‘architects, product and graphic designers, branding strategists, writers, and dreamers’. Its rugs defy categorisation, appearing as free-thinking illustrations-strong expressions of creativity unafraid of bold graphic statements and colour.

Led by principal Josh Nazmiyal, Rug & Kilim’s pieces are born of a deep knowledge and appreciation of fine antique rugs from around the globe. To tap into Josh’s expertise and impecable recognition of market desire, don’t miss the latest additions to the Scandinavian, Burano and Blockprint collectons.

This company is known for its signature black-andwhite contemporary designs, woven from upcycled hemp and goat hair, as well as its exemplary weaving workshop in Ushak. Its designer Muhammed Turk has a masterly command of colour, meaning that beautiful, vibrant pile rugs have been appearing of late too.

Known for its luxurious alpaca rugs that are handwoven in Peru, Sumaq Alpaca has been working on something completely new in recent years. The brand has developed a rug using a new kind of weaving technique that combines both flat knots and hand knots, and the novelty pieces will make their debut in New York.
