COVER 80 is our celebratory 20th anniversary issue.

COVER 80 is our celebratory 20th anniversary issue. The ‘Twenty Years of COVER’ section comprises the twenty favourite rugs of industry experts and a look at twenty years of design plus twenty small/new/young brands to look out for. We talk to Warp & Weft’s founder Michael Mandapati about twenty-five years in the business, Sanchir Kath on joining Jan Kath, and David Rockwell on his new collection with The Rug Company. Talking to artist Ptolemy Mann, we take a look at the growing appreciation of textile art over the last twenty years.
The COVER Connect New York section gives the lowdown on the upcoming September event in Manhattan, from the nine new brands coming in 2025 to the latest rugs that will be on show. We also preview High Point Market, Maison&Objet Paris, the IHGF Delhi Fair, Decorex London and the London Design Festival plus there are reports from Las Vegas Market and 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen.
A focus on the latest collections for autumn includes new rugs by Carini Carpets, Unknown Carpets, Floor Story, Jennifer Manners, Maharam and Rezas. US brand Tamarian and fair trade NGO Label STEP both celebrate thirty years, and we look at the new books celebrating fifty years of the Kips Bay Show House and sixty of the Pasadena Showcase House of Design. The Oriental Weavers Haptech Store comes under the spotlight and we talk to Creative Matters about storytelling. Mestonia by Mestiz is an interior highlight and new trends on the horizon include wellness and Luminous Blue.Â
