A deep-dive into the new Pantone colour of the year and the rugs that feature it
The Pantone Colour of the Year is Mocha Mousse. Having already made frequent appearances on the runway and high street, a preference for the warm brown has now seeped beyond fashion into the design world, which includes rugs.
The annual Pantone colour can sometimes be an unlikely choice for a rug, with the colours Peach Fuzz and Very Peri from the last couple of years being much brighter and more unusual. This year’s choice is, conversely, a great neutral that often features in rug design. Here we include a range of examples in various styles that feature the colour. As you can see, it suits both contemporary and traditional designs.
