This year, the dates of Las Vegas Market coincided with COVER Connect Las Vegas at The International Surface Event (TISE), offering buyers optimum rug exposure in Vegas this January. Here, Rachel Meek selects ten rug highlights, as seen at these two shows, that best epitomise the in-demand looks on the US West Coast this spring.
Transitional Gardens
Traditional motifs are appearing at new scales and in different formations to create a mid-2020s take on centuries-old decorative rug designs. These typically deliver oversized, stylised floral motifs evocative of a well-established, charmingly overgrown, formal garden in soft yet vibrant tones like a dewy early spring morning.

Tone on Tone
With texturally defined pattern and colour drenched interiors here to stay for the foreseeable, rugs that play upon several tones of the same colour allow for ease of use and comfortable flexibility. The palette of choice is warm and welcoming earthy neutrals.

Saturated Patternation
Rich, traditional rug colours are making a come back as seen with these contemporary takes on Beshir and Bijar designs as well as in ABC Italia’s Arcobaleno flatweaves and Taimany Collection on the Samad Rugs booth at CCLV.
