Exhale, Vanguard collection, Creative Matters
COVER Assistant Editor, Rachel Meek, picked ‘Exhale’ from the Vanguard collection by Creative Matters. This piece featured in an article from COVER 73, in which Rachel spoke to managing partners of the company, Ali McMurter and Ana Cunningham. Rachel explains that she picked this rug because ‘the simplicity of its plain field really allows the material’s depth of colour and texture to shine.’ Continuing: ‘I’m impressed by the effect of bleeding inks created in knotted wool, plus the inky depths in the centre, framed by the pale, painterly border are calming and captivating.’
Tenebrist Chevrons, Soheila Shayegan Studio x Zollanvari
The COVER Senior Editor’s choice was ‘Tenebrist Chevrons’, a collaboration between Sohelia Shayegan Studio and Zollanvari, which featured in COVER 76. This rug was chosen because of the fact that it features ‘colour fields and geometry that are combined in an innovative way within a contemporary palette’.
