The COVER ad team pick their favourite rugs from the last four issues

We continue our series by looking at the favourite rug picks from the COVER ad team, Raquel Diaz-Downey and David Phillips. Read part 4 here.

Naag, Jaanwar Collection, Kunaal Kyhaan Seolekar for Jaipur Rugs

Raquel Diaz-Downey, COVER advertising sales executive, chose the ‘Naag’ design from the Jaanwar Collection by Kunaal Kyhaan Seolekar for Jaipur Rugs, which featured in our Spring issue, COVER 74. The collection breaks away from the traditional rectangular design of floor rugs, drawing inspiration from the mysterious charm of ancient Indian culture, tribal communities and the captivating essence of wild animals. Raquel explains that she likes it for ‘its departure in shape from traditional rugs and its original use of the fringes.’ She is also a fan of ‘its earthy tones’ and says it is ‘perfect for a long corridor’.

Elixir, Diane Scott x Hanrad

International senior sales executive, David Phillips, chose ‘Elixir’ by Diane Scott x Hanrad, which featured on the front cover of COVER 75. New Zealand-based rug brand Hanrad collaborated with local artist Diane Scott to craft this design, based on one of Scott’s creations. During May, the dazzling hand-tufted rug was on display in Hanrad’s showroom alongside Scott’s artwork. With its amazing depiction of swirling paint, the rug has caused quite a sensation. This is why David loves it so much; he says that ‘it is stunningly designed and uses explosive and vibrant colours that immediately capture your attention’.
