It is that time again when the COVER team choose their favourite rugs from the last four issues of the magazine. Over the coming weeks leading up to the end of the year, we will delve into the COVER team’s favourite rugs and their reasons for their choices! We’ll begin the series with the selections from our editorial assistants and digital editors, Elena Wyszynski and Ella Haig. Read part 2 here.
Tiger Rug Painting Tiger Rugs, Jordy Kerwick x Luke Irwin in collaboration with Vigo Gallery

Elena Wyszynski’s favourite was this tiger rug from Jordy Kerwick x Luke Irwin in collaboration with Vigo Gallery. She explains her choice saying, ‘I love the fact that this rug’s design was taken from Kerwick’s paintings parodying classic tiger-skin rugs. It offers a completely fresh approach to the timeless rug type, with an almost dreamlike quality, featuring strange and wonderful elements dotted throughout its design.’
Gobustan by Faig Ahmed

Our COVER newcomer, Ella Haig, was dazzled by Faig Ahmed’s fabulous rug artwork from Lucy Upward’s textile art article in the last issue. Ella explained the reason for her choice, saying ‘I find this rug incredibly striking and I was fascinated by the techniques used to achieve this look. I love how it combines traditional features with modern ones, and new elements catch my eye each time I see it.’
