A look back on Flanders Flooring Days

October 15, 2024

Reminiscing on the show which took place in May

This year’s edition of Flanders Flooring Days attracted a significant number of international visitors, with participants from more than 70 countries, showcasing its broad global appeal. The show, which took place in Flanders, Belgium from 13–16 May, brought together both established industry leaders and newcomers, with a diverse range of exhibitors from across Europe.

A new addition this year was ‘The Hub’ at Kortrijk Xpo, a centralised space that aimed to improve accessibility and visibility for exhibitors and visitors alike. This new format allowed for a more streamlined experience, helping attendees move efficiently between showrooms and exhibition spaces. ‘Trend Talks’ by industry experts were held within these exhibition spaces, making them valuable discussion spaces focussing on upcoming design trends and innovations in flooring.

Several Belgian companies known for their broadloom carpets and rugs, such as Lano, Tapibel, Ragolle Rugs and Verbatex exhibited at the event. The increased use of recycled/raw materials was apparent amongst these exhibitors, with Verbatex offering a selection of rugs made using 88% recycled materials.

The event’s hybrid structure, blending traditional showrooms with centralised exhibitions, received positive feedback for providing a comprehensive overview of the flooring sector. It also fostered valuable networking opportunities for manufacturers, designers and professionals in the industry.
