Maison&Objet
When September rolls around and it’s back to school time, Maison&Objet (8-12 September) gets the interior industry back into the swing of things. As usual, European brands will be flocking to the French capital—Rezas from Denmark, Edelgrund from Switzerland and Kateha from Sweden to name but a few—as well as exhibitors from further afield. Moroccan carpets are always well represented at the fair. Those interested in minimalistic Moroccan designs both vintage and new should visit the stands of Bazar du Sud and Le Nouvel Atlas.
Danish brand Linie Design will be showing the brand’s new collection Apertus, which was created with the idea of modest, uncluttered designs and conscious production methods in mind. Made using undyed wool and organic cotton the rugs feature intriguing textural contrasts.
New for this M&O edition is a special section in Hall 5A devoted to Turkish rugs, courtesy of the Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association. Sixteen Turkish companies, including Kirkit, will be presenting contemporary designs as well as traditional carpets. There will also be a lounge where Turkish tea and coffee will be served, and visitors will get a chance to discover the finalists in the Turkish National Carpet Design Contest.
