High Point Market in June saw a number of rug brands move to new showrooms or expand their previous spaces

There were several showroom changes and additions for premium rug brands at High Point Market this June. Having been postponed from its usual April slot, the June event saw good visitor numbers and marked the start of a return to normal fair proceedings.

Showroom changes included Art Resources’ move from the brand’s High Point Market Square suite 278 to a space opposite. Max Moussavi comments: ‘The reason was to change to a showroom with a better viewing location so would better display our growing program line.’ When asked how the June show went, he adds ‘Best it has been for many years, despite the pandemic and the timing of the show.’ Companies have had varying experiences of the pandemic, so COVER asks Moussavi how the Los Angeles-based company has fared over the last 18 months. ‘Due to our IT—which I can say is the best in the industry—we were not affected during lockdown and our sales were better than the previous year,’ he replies. ‘Our website has been updated so now customers can see when a new order was placed and when it will be completed.’ It appears that good online tools have been invaluable to the success of businesses over lockdown.

Like so many of us, Art Resources are thrilled to be taking part in more upcoming live events and for the October edition of High Point expect a completely new collection of programmed decorative rugs in their new space. They also plan to be part of the next planned Rug Show in LA, which is currently set for February 2022.
