Trade is the virtual fair at the core of COVER Connect, 12-15 January 2021

Trade is the virtual fair at the core of COVER Connect, 12-15 January 2021, featuring more than thirty-five of the most coveted international rug brands, showcasing their latest designs and new collections. We will provide an engaging buying experience for exhibitors and clients, and recreate the atmosphere of a fair by offering numerous encounters with outstanding design, quality rugs and the companies who create them.

For a full list of companies and direct links to their websites visit www.thecoverconnect.com

With very few of the usual fairs taking place this year, for many of the exhibitors—selected by COVER—Trade will act as a virtual launchpad for new collections and designs. Up to thirty rugs per company will be shown using a combination of high-quality images and videos. These are accompanied by catalogues for download and links to additional material associated with the brand hosted elsewhere on the COVER Connect site. The virtual booths will act as an easily accessible overview of each company’s rugs representing their style and ethos. Live chat and pre-bookable online meetings held via video links will be available directly from these booths.

Expected exhibits (with more to be announced) are the Gesture collection from cc-tapis, born of five designers’ meditation on the word’s meaning: Patricia Urquiola, Sabine Marcelis, Philippe Malouin, Mae Engelgeer and Yuri Himuro. One of Choudhary Exports’ new collections takes inspiration from Mumbai-based haute-couture fashion house Falguni Shane Peacock, while The Classic Rug Collection will bring two collections based on archival works by Frank Lloyd Wright and Charley Harper. See Features in COVER 61 (out soon) for a taster of exhibitors Tamarian and Tania Johnson’s new pieces.

The Trade and Events sections are open exclusively to accredited buyers, interior designers and architects verified by COVER. Registration to attend Talks and view Features is not subject to verification. Advance appointments can be made with exhibitors once attendees have received confirmation of their accreditation. A taster of the virtual fair will be possible at the Trade preview, which launches the week before COVER Connect officially opens. For the duration of Trade, 12–15 January, all exhibitors have been encouraged to be available for meetings between 9am & 10pm GMT in a bid to cater for a wide range of time zones. It will be made clear to visitors when an exhibitor is available to network, negotiate, show additional stock or demonstrate bespoke potential.

Eva Sutton, Creative Director/Partner at NOA Living said: ‘We’re very excited to present our designs in COVER Connect’s virtual event space. Hats off to COVER’s innovation and experimentation!’
