Don’t miss out on visiting Balitimore-based rug brand Tamarian at the Summer Atlanta Market this weekend

The Summer Atlanta Market normally takes place in July but for 2020 has been moved to 13–18 August. If you plan to attend this weekend, expect rigorous health and safety protocols implemented by organiser IMC and of course some great rug design by brands such as Tamarian.

Balitimore-based rug company Tamarian has recently seen a change of hands, as Steve Cibor sold his remaining ownership shares to partner and friend Ryan Higgins earlier this year. Higgins plans to set Tamarian on ‘a new course for a new era in the midst of massive changes within the industry’, building upon existing core strengths and values of creativity, craftsmanship, and customer relations, while expanding the brand’s presence.

Rug by Tamarian

With their usual impressive array of hand-knotted rug designs on show, Tamarian can be found at 6 E18 at Atlanta Market this weekend. For those of us who can’t be there in person, check out Tamarian’s Instagram for live updates or read on to hear about how Tamarian’s Ned Baker has been spending time in quarantine:

Launching our new Tamarian Social podcast has been a great distraction and kept me in touch with clients and colleagues in a positive way. It’s amazing how editing out a few thousand ‘ums’ from an interview can pass the time at home! I also have tried to start each day with some short meditation and light yoga, really just perusing ‘10 meaningful breaths’ with zero outside thoughts/distractions. I believe I made it to 4 once… years ago. I’ve found it helpful, if not necessary, to start the day away from the news and just focus inward for a brief moment before the cacophony of the day begins its symphony. I’m also trying to use a lot of metaphors.
