In the new collection Greetings from the City of Belgium for hand tufting company Ora Pro Nobis, Belgian design studio Kiiv draws on its home country for inspiration while evading such clichés as waffles, beer and French fries. The subject matter was a natural choice as the collection of rugs is designed and produced in Belgium. Ora Pro Nobis and Kiiv both share a love for environmentally friendly design and Belgian craftsmanship—Ora Pro Nobis has the official ‘Handmade in Belgium’ label—and thus made perfect partners.

The collection comprises five designs: Pole Position, Hellhole, Small Talk, At Night and Inside Out. Kiiv was founded in 2017 by Klaartje Busselot as a place to experiment with colour, motif and proportion, which the new designs clearly demonstrate. The rugs are hand tufted in Stekene from wool and bamboo.

Pole Position and Hellhole could be admired during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven in October 2019 as part of the show Unlimited Design: Dutch Edition curated by Isola Design District. The rest of the collection will officially launch during the second half of 2020.
