If you missed this year’s Sight Unseen OFFSITE, a New York design show happening in May, then here are the rug and textile highlights.
The Sight Unseen OFFSITE event was launched in 2014 by Sight Unseen, an online magazine that was founded in 2009 by Monica Khemsurov and Jill Singer. The 2016 edition of the show happened on 13-16 May at The Grace Building in New York and featured more than seventy independent designers and brands. What makes SU OFFSITE so interesting for COVER is that it often features many emerging US-based rug and textile designers.
This year Liz Collins showed her wonderful chunky woven rugs, that we featured in COVER 41. Aelfie is an interesting young Brooklyn-based rug and interior products brand worth looking out for. Great flatweaves were shown by Dana Haim, MINNA and Tantuvi, a fashion and homewares brand, who will be featured in the next issue of COVER. Other highlights included Julie Thévenot‘s fiber wall hangings, cowhide rugs and pillows by AVO and denim rugs from LikeMindedObjects.
