A retrospective exhibition of the Serbian born Bernat Klein (1922 – 2014) celebrates the work of the forward-thinking colourist at the Dovecot Gallery, Edinburgh, 31 July-26 September 2015.

The natural surroundings of the Scottish borderlands where Klein lived and worked inspired him to create a bright new palette that rebelled against widespread utilitarian tones of the 1950s and was welcomed by European fashion houses. The exhibition features Pointillist inspired oil paintings, fabric designs for Chanel, Dior and YSL, and tapestries created in the 1970s at Dovecot.
