As a global meeting point and driving force of the industry, DOMOTEX Hannover champions innovation and works as an international trend barometer. More than sixty countries are represented at the fair, which takes place at the Deutsche Messe, 17–20 January 2015.
Hall 17 is the place for top-end handmade rugs, where internationally renowned brands will reveal their latest luxury collections to the world. Offerings from Rug Star, Floor to Heaven, Jan Kath Design, Paulig Teppichweberei, Obeetee, Reuber-Henning, Hossein Rezvani and Wool & Silk Rugs can be found here, along with the likes of Jaipur, cc tapis, Sahar, Tufenkian, New Moon, Kirkit, Heidarian, Ariana and Zollanvari. Halls 15 and 16 promise classic handmade carpets, and antique pieces will be exhibited next to modern interiors in hall 14.
Following a successful debut in 2014, Innovations@DOMOTEX appears across three special display areas in halls 6, 9 and 17 – each custom designed by Berlin-based architectural firm Matter. These concise exhibition pockets within the main event will provide inspirational overviews of recent design and technological developments. They also offer sociable, central meeting points amid the stands.
For the first time, the Carpet Design Awards will be presented as part of the Innovations section. In the words of Dr Jochen Köckler, member of the managing board at Deutsche Messe, ‘Uniting the two will offer exhibitors significant added value for the presentation and promotion of their exclusive creations.’ Three rugs will be displayed in each of the eight categories; the winners will be announced in an official ceremony on Sunday 18 January 2015.
