The third edition of The Rug Show @ Javits, New York took place 7 – 10 September 2014 and went down a storm with buyers and exhibitors alike.

Retailer Mark Gonsenhauser, of Virginia-based Mark Gonsenhauser’s Oriental Rug & Carpet Superstore even hailed it as being ‘like a mini Domotex, very exciting. The Show was beautifully laid out with a nice cross-section of medium to high-end merchandise.’ Another U.S. retailer who was equally as excited by the shows direction and development was Mahmud Jafri, owner of Dover Rug and Home in Natick and Boston, MA. He commented, “It’s remarkable how much it has improved from it’s first two tries. I am high on this show.”

First time exhibitor, Robin Gray found cheer in the number of buyers actively looking for colour, saying, “It was nice that all of my orders or strike offs weren’t all gray or beige.” Wool and Silk and Samad displayed colourful carpets on their stands, while subtle transitional silver grey tones were reportedly popular elsewhere.

The buzz that surrounded the 2014 edition was achieved with a winning combination of a great venue in the spacious halls of the north Pavilion at the Javits Center, with the chance for buyers to view the cream of modern carpet production from multiple manufacturers and designers, all under one roof. The Rug Show can next be seen at the Los Angeles Convention Center 29 – 31 March 2015.
