Craft takes centre stage at London’s Saatchi Gallery on 9 – 12 May at COLLECT 2014, The International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects presented by the Crafts Council. Now in its 11th year, 37 international galleries will come together to exhibit new and established museum quality craft for sale, from over 400 new and established creators.
Ceramics continue to have a strong presence with glass, wood, jewellery and textiles also on show. The breadth of contemporary craft practice is to be explored in seven one-off installations by eight artists in The Project Space. One of these, Wanderlust by Jilly Edwards, is created around the concept of a loom-bound vertical journey with memories of past interactions with the environment woven into intricate tapestries of abstract landscapes.
