Taking place from 18 – 20 May 2014 at the ExCel London, the May Design Series combines five strong elements: The Furniture Show (previously known as Interiors UK), Lighting, Kitchen and Bathroom, Decor, and the innovative Design Excellence platform, DX. Collections from almost 400 exhibitors from twenty countries will be ready for sale to retailers, interior designers and architects. Building on the 2013 model that itself combined two formerly separate shows, the Series fills the market demand for a large, unifying, international event and aims to create the ultimate furnishings fair in the UK.
Classic to contemporary ranges to be seen include the Seashore Collection from Deirdre Dyson, comprising eight fresh designs inspired by the untouched beaches of the ArchipiƩlago de las Perlas near Panama. Rug Maker will be showing the new collection by Ptolemy Mann, featuring kilims in beautifully bright colour combinations, alongside rugs that have been inspired by Olga Hirsch designs found at the British Library. Warm purples and teals will be introduced from Bazaar Velvet, alongside exhibitors Sylka Carpets, ECO Furniture and Flair Rugs.
Also new this year will be the Fabric Pavilion, a dedicated feature displaying the latest collections of luxurious fabrics from an edited collection of 36 British and international brands at The Furniture Show, part of the May Design Series. Textile specialists will display their latest Spring collections around a central Champagne Bar, which will be perfectly complemented by an exquisite display of fabrics, creating a go-to destination within The Furniture Show that will unite retailers, interior designers and furniture manufacturers alike at the heart of the event. Participants will include furniture retailer Heal’s, Swaffer Fabrics, Pedroso & Osorio and Barker & Barker.
