This weekend, 24-28 January 2014 in Paris, international home show Maison&Objet is held at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre. Pulsing with emerging interior trends, this year’s overriding theme is “Elsewhere; Globetrotters and nomads, amblers and bushwhackers, heading out to discover the other”. Front London, will exhibit rugs from Jan Kath’s exploratory Spacecrafted collection.
In hall 7, the Maison&Objet éditeurs show brings together over 100 fabric, textile, wallpaper and paint brands premiering their new developments to the world. Here Luc Druez presents the cutting edge LcD textile collection made of metallic and fire resistant technical fibres, Timorous Beasties reveal luxurious new colour ways of their classic wallpapers, and Lalie Design show their bold printed textiles.
In keeping with the ‘Ethnic Chic’ vibes, Margo Selby launches her Tribal cushion collection, Angelo present the ‘Diversity’ rug made of recycled yarns, Rug Maker feature kelims by Ptolemy Mann, and Zollanvari show 2 new ranges- a Landscape collection and Baneh kelims in contemporary colours.
Bringing together the most innovative design visionaries, other textile and rug companies making an appearance include House of Hackney, CC Tapis, Top Floor, Serge Lesage, Deirdre Dyson and Toulemonde Bochart.
Running simultaneously, 23 – 27 January 2014 in the centre of the city is another show, Paris Déco Off. For the fifth year running famed creators of the interior decoration world open their Parisian showrooms to visitors and respond to the enquiring theme of “Showcase your expertise: The Art, Manner, Materials and Handiwork”. Evening events take place on Friday 24 on the Right Bank and Saturday 25 on the Left Bank. Amongst those taking part are Christian Fischerbacher, Cole & Son, Dominique Picquier, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Aldeco, Jab, LORCA and Tres Tintas.
