London-based rug designer Sonya Winner has some wonderfully vibrant designs under her belt, none less impressive than the rugs that Winner will show at designjunction in September. After Matisse Purple Blue continues the theme of her previous designs in beautifully conveying the idea of overlapping sheets of coloured translucent tissue paper. Wool may not be an obvious choice for showing the delicate colour changes for this notion but with Winner’s controlled use of colour and tone it works very well. Further designs that will be showing are Vortex, Galaxy and Dusk, all based on the same idea of overlapping sections of brightly coloured paper and each with its own palette. Look out for Sonya Winner at designjunction during the London Design Festival.
