What happens to old decommissioned fire hoses? Well, in the US California-based Oxgut Hose Company are turning them into interior products like rugs, chairs, hammocks, glasses cases and slippers. The hose material makes them very durable and easy to clean as well as giving the products a gritty urban aesthetic. The company say “We rescue fire hose otherwise destined for landfill and give it new life as part of our hand-crafted pieces. Serving both form and function in home, office and life.”
