As one of the world’s most important design fairs, Milan Design Week is increasingly becoming a great event to find the latest collections from the world’s premier carpet producers. This is not only on account of COVER’s second annual Forza Tappeti show on 9-14 April 2013 at La Pelota, but because of the plethora of carpet displays amongst the inexhaustible supply of great design shows across the city.

French company Chevalier édition will be at Salone del Mobile, as announced in our Press Releases.
Tom Dixon’s MOST Salone at Milan’s Museum of Science and Technology features a host of brands including Studio Job and Nanimarquina, a company who is 25 years old this year and will be exhibiting the new Naturals Collection, undyed rugs made from materials such as nettle, jute, silk and wool.
GAN is to show the brilliant Mangas Space designed by Patricia Urquiola at Salone.
Two designers Luca Nichetto and Oki Sato will reveal their first collaborative project, a seven piece collection entitled ‘NICHETTO=NENDO’. N=N/06 fish skin in a roof carpet is an idea for a rug made out of small overlapping pieces that can be adapted to any space.
Bokja Design, from Beirut, will be showing a new collection The Migration Stories, at Rossana Orlandi. The individually crafted pieces of furniture reflect stories of human movement and migration. The Migration sofa carries a heavy burden of rolled up rugs and bedding on its ‘back’ and the drawer at the base represents a suitcase of clothes. The ‘wings’ on each side are flexible and can flap in and out, like a bird. The Migration Stories Collection includes rugs, cushions and other interior products.

This year at Milan Design Week Knoll are celebrating 75 years of designing with two shows, one at Salone and the other in the city, at the Prada space at Via Fogazzaro 36.
