Yesterday was the first day of Decorex, and the rain held off long enough to allow us exhibitors to stroll the promenade of the Royal Chelsea Hospital,

amble up a grand allée of trees,

and ultimately enter the grand “tent”.

The COVER stand is adorned with a gorgeous tapestry titled Reverie by JD Staron.

Your scribe saw photos of the tapestry before she saw the real item, but color resolution is a tricky beast, and images do not do justice to the complexity and sophistication of the design and palette. The colours are vivid but not in the least garish. Gentle pinks and saturated corals are complemented by turquoise and gold. The tapestry garnered much interest.

COVER’s stand is bijoux (3′ x 12′ or so) but perfect. Your scribe made like a carnival barker, exhorting one and all to come and view our fabulous magazine. Sample issues ran out an hour before the show closed – a good day! DJ
