COVER likes this embroidery work by Elvis Robertson. It appears that the table cloths are marked and stained but are in fact just carefully embroidered with pretend wine glass rings and food marks. Elvis adds “Whenever we are together at a table with food, wine, music and laughter… inevitably there will be stains. I happen to love these flaws – to me they are evocative and commemorative. This collection of table cloths is a celebration of such mundane beauty and as such I have stitched certain stains with painstaking detail and care. For those who like to find the shapes in clouds and play with shadows on the wall there are constellations to be found in the patterns they make.”
