100% Design may have become a less exciting fair over the last few years but the 2011 edition still offered some great things to see, particularly in the 100% Design Futures section at the back of the show. New to exhibiting in London, Tania Johnson‘s rugs looked striking on her stand.

Paper Boy interiors had some fantastic new children’s wallpapers and fabrics, including the wonderful How it Works.

Lorna Syson showed her beautiful framed flowers, a new triptych piece, her new British Hedgerow cushion designs and the Bradbury print on wallpaper and fabric. She shared a stand with another fabric designer, SJ Guest, who showed some funky, bold cushions and lampshades.

Italian company Crop showed a fantastic shaggy chair and matching pouffe, called Pom Pon. The design is based on pom poms and is produced entirely by hand stitching and twisting strips of wool fabric, linen and cotton from selvages, waste material from the textile production, making it a good eco product. This means that each product is individual.

There were some beautiful fabrics showed by Andreea Mandrescu, who uses rubber somehow attached onto fabric – a technique she would not reveal – and weaver Priyal Garg, who makes intricate wearable woven pieces.

Mischa Rugs are a new rug company based in Cheshire and Kent, who set up in January this year. We may see them at 100% Design again.
London designer Claire Coles makes embroidered wallpaper and this year she showed some of her work made specifically for her stand at 100% Design.

It was Adrienne Chinn‘s first year showing at 100% Design but her stand looked really professional. Her Urban London Collection comprises rugs, wallpapers and fabrics, some of which have been designed in collaboration with London-based textile designer Annette Taylor-Anderson of ATADesigns.

The Miga de Pan is the label of Argentinian designer Adriana Torres, who showed some really lovely crochet and hand embroidered interior and child product, including The Bosque collection of cushions and pouffes that are inspired by the forest.

Lorraine Stratham of Loophouse showed three new rugs on the Design Nation stand. Her new design Diavision (flux) is really striking.

Textile and surface designer Mianmian Zheng had created some amazing textures using wools and leather and various natural and artificial materials, all wearable.

Tabisson had some great fun font chairs with punctuation mark lights to go with them.

Greek carpet company Tapicap had some great designs on the Greece stand. Their modular Flooo rug looked very funky.
