Battle Great Wood fabric by Lindsay Alker

UK fabric and wallpaper designer Lindsay Alker has worked with fashion and furnishing fabrics for over twenty years, having produced designs for Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Diana von Furstenberg, Givenchy, Liberty of London and many more big names. Influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement, Alker produces her seven current patterns using lino-blocks ( a traditional British Folk Art technique) to give them a rough texture and intentionally flawed appearance. They are hand silkscreened in England by artisan printers on natural linens and voiles and have a very strong traditional feel about them.

Alker’s seven designs became available in London’s Liberty store in June 2010. They include the signature prints Battle Great Wood and Nook Beach and also the textural stripe design of Castle Water, which will be launched at Decorex 2011 on 25-28 September STAND NUMBER B40A . Her beautiful designs will make a welcome addition to the show.
