At DMY Berlin 2011, on 1-5 June, Berlin-based designer Werner Aisslinger showed off his Hemp House, a project exploring sustainable materials. The house included Hemp Chair, which along with the house is made of more than 70% natural fibers such as hemp and kenaf (similar to jute), bound together with acrodur, a water-based acrylic resin, which releases no harmful substances and water is its only byproduct. The fibres are then compression molded into shape.
